We established our workshop in front of the main gate of Nishi Hongwanji in Tenmei years of Edo era, more than 200 years ago. At the beginning we made Hyousou works of general clients including Nishi Hongwanji and their end temples in all over Japan and built up our history. And after World War II we built a cultural properties preserving and restoring workshop responding to the government request in 1951 (Showa 26). Since then we have steadily restored cultural heritage like drawings, Japanese calligraphy and Japanese dyeing works building up results. We renamed us Usami Shokakudo Company Limited in July 1974 (Showa 49) and the name of the ancestor has been succeeded as 8th (my father, counsel).

And in January 1988 (Showa 63) we could build a new office building obtaining our longtime wish by grace of support of many people. Now we will polish our traditional "mind and skills", make effort every day, devote ourselves to restoring cultural heritage and finishing artworks with whole company power wholeheartedly and contribute to bringing down the precious cultural heritage to the future.
